“We come from the mountains”
Nature related photography has left the largest imprint on my heart. Some of my greatest memories of life relate to backpacking, hiking, camping and zoo dates with my mom. The quote "We come from the Mountains" captures all of those fond memories of mine, and also reminds me that in spite of the chaos of the world, nature is my grounding place and where I belong. I enjoy photographing the outdoors and animals of all types.
I was the kid who thought I'd be a Veterinarian one day and thrived at Zoo Camp in the summer. I couldn't get enough of animals then, and still cannot get enough now. I've had my fair share of moments where an animal stares right back at my lens and we share a moment, in some capacity. Those moments always mean the most.
As an adult, the Phoenix Zoo is one of my most favorite places. I like to think my friends live there and know many by name. In 2017, my husband and I got married in the Orangutan Exhibit and it was the best day of my entire life. I always stop in our spot each time I visit.
